Information zur Paradontalbehandlung

Eine Parodontitis (früher als Parodontose bekannt) ist eine bakteriell entzündliche Erkrankung des gesamten Zahnbettes, also nicht nur des Zahnfleisches sondern auch tieferer Gewebe wie dem sog. Alveolarknochen, die unbehandelt in völligem Zahnverlust enden kann.

Eine moderne Parodontalbehandlung nach dem Konzept der kompletten Munddesinfektion (Full-mouth-disinfection) führt auf sehr schonende Weise zum Gewebeerhalt. Das früher ab bestimmter Zahnfleischtaschentiefe obligat durchgeführte Aufschneiden des Zahnfleisches gehört der Vergangenheit an.

Nach vorbereitenden Prophylaxesitzungen wird innerhalb von 24 Stunden das gesamte Gebiss mit Ultraschall und instrumentellem Reinigen der Wurzeloberfläche durch den Zahnarzt gesäubert. Unterstützt wird diese Maßnahme durch den lokalen Einsatz von Chlorhexidin als Spüllösung und Gel für weitere 14 Tage. Gegebenenfalls kann bei schweren Verlaufsformen vor der eigentlichen Therapie durch einen mikrobakteriellen Test das Erregerspektrum ermittelt werden und zusätzlich antibiotisch behandelt werden.
